This is the thickest green onion pancake I've ever eaten despite it being called a thin onion pancake on the menu. It's not like the traditional thin, flaky ones in Taiwan but I actually really loved how doughy it was. The only downside was that the part with the green onions at the edge was extremely salty while the center didn't have much flavor. If it was more balanced, it would've been my favorite ever. I also tried the stewed beef and tendon noodle soup which was pretty good although I wish the beef was more tender. It was on the stiffer side although it was marinated well. I did love how chewy and bouncy the noodles were though and the flavor of the broth.
Best beef noodle soup that I've ever had. Hand pulled noodles taste fresh. Ambiance is the perfect fit for Mom and Pop shop in Alhambra. ADVICE: Cash Only
Classic noodle house with a simple menu that's been around forever. Owners are super nice and many locals come here. Onion pancake is delicious and crispy. I also got the tendon beef noodle soup but have to get the handmade noodles which is what everyone was ordering Pro Tip: bring cash but there's an ATM!
I love this family owned noodle spot in the SGV. I used to go to the Temple City location when I first discovered it. I believe MPK is the only location that's left by the original owner. They are known for their beef noodle soup. The noodles are handmade which makes it even more authentic. We normally order the Beef Noodle Soup, Noodles with Bean sauce and Pan fried meat dumplings. First, the beef ALWAYS cooked perfectly, super tender and has a great balance with the fatty portion of the beef It feels like you're eating with pork belly it's beef. The broth is amazing, not too my oil with lots of flavors. Pan Fried Dumpling, the dish I can't skip! So juicy and fresh. I love eating it with the beef noodle soup. Dry Noodle with Bean Sauce, this dish in general is my childhood favorite. The sauce tastes so well with the noodle. It has a good amount of ground meat! The ambiance feels very homey, the guy that works at the front, makes everyone feels so welcome with greetings and great compliment. I'm assuming they have a lot of regulars LOL. This is CASH ONLY so make sure you bring cash.
denny was so friendly and welcoming! he remembered all the customers' names and demonstrated genuine interest and care for every person who walked in. his thoughtful, funny, warm, and kind demeanor is very special and made the dining experience extremely enjoyable. the beef noodle soup broth was very light and delicious, and the cold cucumbers were very refreshing. we will be sure to come back soon!
The best noodle spot I've been to, I'm not even exaggeratin. I'm very critical when it comes to food, & hey this spot is OG. & the dude named Denny is very cool, makes this spot even more worth it to dine in lol
Great food and friendly staff. Saw all the tik tok reviews and had to come try. Mandarin did not disappoint.
Asian food in this area always seems to hit the spot :3 it's tucked away in the SGV area with a tiny parking lot ORDERED: *Noodles w/spicy chili sauce (dry) Taste: 7.5/10; noodles were nice and chewy with quite a bit of chicken, spinach, carrots and the chili oil. For me, the chili oil wasn't really spicy at all.. (I usually like to eat more spicy) so I had to put in some red chili from the side pot *Cold Cucumber Salad Taste: 9/10; one bite, you get the vinegar-y, garlic-y mixture of cucumber all in one go! This salad is a fairly traditional side dish and it was spot on! VIBE: The tiny restaurant packs a punch with the Chinese vibe of simple and quick which I love and enjoy~ PEOPLE: There seemed to be just one server who was extremely helpful and fast! My friend and I had been discussing what boba to get and he had heard us and gave us some great recommendations! OVERALL FEELINGS: Portions are fairly huge for the price so you getting your worth and weight in food :) I of course would come back and try the other many choices that they have~
Went here on a Friday afternoon, love the food, service, and ambiance of the place. You can tell is a mom and pop shop, classic taiwanese dishes and great noodles. Server in front (Denny I think) is super nice and personable - looks like there were multiple regulars that he knew coming through. Spoke english and mandarin well. We had the beef noodle soup which had decent portions, great broth with a good peppery/salty taste without being overpowering. Noodles were great here. Looking forward to coming back!
