Welcome to Mandarin Noodle House, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Monterey Park, California. Located at 701 W Garvey Ave, this inviting eatery boasts a rich culinary tradition that promises to transport your taste buds straight to the streets of Asia.

As you step inside, you’ll encounter the warm atmosphere of a family-run establishment, where the owner, Denny, and his team ensure every visit feels like coming home. With a focus on exceptional service, customers rave about how Denny’s friendly demeanor and careful recommendations enhance their dining experience. The intimacy of the setting combined with a cozy ambiance makes it the perfect spot for family gatherings or a date night.

Now, let's talk about the food. The menu at Mandarin Noodle House is a delightful exploration of traditional Chinese flavors. I highly recommend starting off with the Steamed Vegetable Dumplings or the Pan Fried Meat Dumplings, both of which receive high praise from regulars. The dumplings are expertly crafted, with a perfect balance of chew and tenderness that leaves you craving more.

The true star of the menu, however, has to be the Beef Tendon Noodle Soup. Customers can’t stop raving about how the rich, spicy broth soothes the soul. Each bowl is generously laden with thick, chewy noodles that hold the flavorful broth beautifully, and tender pieces of beef that practically melt in your mouth. As one satisfied diner noted, it's the kind of comfort food that warms you on a cold night, making it a must-try.

For those seeking lighter options, the Vegetable Bean Curd Soup or the Seaweed Egg Flower Soup are great choices. Dishes are priced reasonably, with options like Vegetable Chow Mein for just $9.95, ensuring you get excellent value for your meal.

It’s also worthwhile to note that Mandarin Noodle House is cash-only, a small reminder of its authenticity and dedication to the craft of homemade cuisine. And fear not about parking—there's a dedicated lot for customers, making your visit hassle-free.

Overall, Mandarin Noodle House stands out not just for its delectable offerings but also for its commitment to customer satisfaction. Great food, and the service was amazing. It was busy when we went so but not to the point of crowed so it wasn't loud. Good place for family and a date. Denny is very friendly and gives his recommendations. Strongly advise on taking it!It'ss small and intimate with a nice setting. They have their own free parking lot.

Five stars for food, service, etc etc! They have their own parking lot and it looks small but I have always found a spot. Cash only - I always forget this but I always happen to have enough whenever I come thankfully! This family business truly treats you well. Denny always greets you with friendliness, energy, cheer, helpfulness, and comedy (at least he always makes me laugh). Customer service is always #1 here!! Heck, I even told him I was gonna take a picture of the place to leave a review and he posed for me I love the dumplings, noodles, etc etc. The only thing to note is if you are getting food to go, might be better to get boiled dumplings than fried because it won’t maintain crispyness (as any place when you get food to go) and it becomes kind of hard to chew. I love this place though and definitely will come back!

It's a small family establishment. Some dishes are very good like Beef tendon noodle soup, potstickers and side dishes of cucumber salad and Seaweed salad. The Kung pao chicken had meat that was dry, like it was precooked. It definitely did not have that juicy, just cooked feel. He asked if we wanted it a little spicy. We said yes, but there was no spice added, so it wasn't a great choice. Maybe that's why it's on the back page, like an extra section. Concentrate on the 2 main pages on the inside of the menu. They have their own little parking lot.

I came here on a cold windy night just to get one thing...the beef noodle soup. It was recommended by someone who knows his Chinese food. He said that this soup was good...if he says it I believe! So finally after a year or so I got to come in and try since the place I originally planned to eat at closed early. It was empty at first then while eating, slowly started to fill up on this wet Sunday. Walked in ordered the soup and 10 mins later the soup came out HOT!!!! Spicy and hot to the touch just the way I like it. The noodles are thick, chewy, and they hold on to the broth well. Tender beef pieces break down softly on my tongue soaked with the spicy, peppery broth! My mouth is watering now just remembering of this bowl of noodles. The cilantro adds a freshness that brightens up the soup. Much needed after a long day of travel very comforting food for the soul. Filled my belly and warmed my body! Will be coming back to try some other items but this was a great start for me.

Stellar service. I'd never been before but the server was excellent. Friendly and there without being too there. I got the beef noodle soup with handmade noodles. The broth was so flavorful and savory. Exactly what I wanted. The beef falls apart easily. Cash only at this establishment. Carry out available. It's a small restaurant with about 10 tables or so. My kind of place. Will definitely go back for this soup and highly recommend.

In November 2024, we visited Mandarin Noodle House, a Taiwanese restaurant in Monterey Park, Los Angeles. The friendly owner greeted us with a reminder that they only accept cash. This quaint, retro restaurant has been around for 46 years. We started with the cold appetizer, century egg tofu. The tofu was firm enough to handle easily, and the garlic soy sauce, paired with bonito flakes and century egg, offered a complex flavor profile. Fort boyfriend , the century egg’s taste, appearance, and texture were quite unique. The cucumber salad was refreshing, and the braised platter featured a variety of items, including offal, which is a must-try for those who enjoy it. The beef noodle soup, with its combination of tendon and meat, was incredibly tender and flavorful, with a traditional Chinese herbal broth. The juicy pan-fried dumplings were also delightful, offering a homely, mild taste. We highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to experience authentic Taiwanese cuisine.

Incredibly delicious. Beef noodle soup was perfect with hand pulled noodles. Been meaning to go there for years because of the tiles. Beef dumplings! And the ring of chili sauces, very good chili sauce. Also they had the pickled cucumber... And the thin onion pancakes were good. And also the cold sesame noodles. I want to go back
